Accessibility conformance evidence readiness

Buyer asked for a VPAT?

VPATReady™ helps software vendors and product teams quickly check whether their accessibility conformance evidence is ready before procurement, enterprise review, or public-sector sales conversations.

Not a certification. Not legal advice. A practical readiness check for accessibility evidence your team may need to share.

VPAT basics

What accessibility evidence requests usually mean

When someone asks for a VPAT, Accessibility Conformance Report, or accessibility evidence, they are usually asking for structured information they can review before a purchase, partnership, grant, renewal, public-sector opportunity, or internal accessibility decision moves forward.

What is a VPAT?

VPAT stands for Voluntary Product Accessibility Template. It is a template used to document how an information and communications technology product or service addresses accessibility requirements and standards.

What is an ACR?

ACR stands for Accessibility Conformance Report. In practical use, an ACR is the completed report that results when a VPAT is filled out with product information, evaluation methods, conformance levels, and explanatory remarks.

Who might need one?

Software vendors, product teams, startups, consultants, nonprofits, education providers, healthcare organizations, and mission-driven teams may need to share accessibility conformance evidence with buyers, funders, partners, reviewers, or internal stakeholders.

Why it matters

Accessibility evidence is easier to explain when product scope, testing methods, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines coverage, known issues, remediation plans, and support documentation are organized before a request becomes urgent.

VPATReady™ helps teams prepare for accessibility evidence conversations. It does not complete an official template, certify accessibility, provide legal advice, or replace a full accessibility evaluation.

The problem

Accessibility evidence is often scattered when your team needs it most.

Teams often have useful accessibility work spread across issue trackers, audit notes, design reviews, testing summaries, remediation plans, product documentation, support materials, and internal conversations. The challenge is knowing whether that evidence is organized, current, and clear enough to share or use in a review.

VPATReady™ is built for the moment before the request becomes urgent: before a buyer, funder, partner, reviewer, procurement team, or internal stakeholder asks for clearer accessibility evidence.

Common evidence readiness gaps

  • No current VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report
  • Unclear product, service, or version scope
  • Missing testing method summary
  • No Web Content Accessibility Guidelines mapping
  • Limited keyboard or assistive technology testing notes
  • Known issues are not tracked in a review-ready way

What VPATReady™ checks

Evidence signals that matter when accessibility questions come up.

The readiness check focuses on whether common accessibility conformance materials are present, understandable, current, and organized enough to support a review, request, renewal, partnership, grant, procurement process, or internal decision.

  • Product, service, and version scope
  • VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report readiness
  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines coverage
  • Known gaps and remediation notes
  • Testing methods and assistive technology coverage
  • Review-ready summary language

How it works

A practical path from scattered evidence to clearer next steps.

  1. Answer readiness prompts

Complete a short, no-account questionnaire about your product, service, or documentation scope; current VPAT or Accessibility Conformance Report status; testing evidence; known issues; support materials; and timing.

  2. Identify evidence gaps

VPATReady™ checks for common missing or unclear evidence areas, including scope clarity, testing methods, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines coverage, keyboard testing, assistive technology notes, issue tracking, and remediation ownership.

  3. Review your readiness level

The page returns a Low, Moderate, or High readiness result with plain-language guidance. The result is based only on the answers provided and should not be treated as certification, legal advice, or a full accessibility evaluation.

  4. Choose the next step

Use the free result as a starting point, review the $79 Evidence Gap Report path, request a $750 Human-Reviewed Readiness Summary, or discuss broader readiness support through Artifacts Media.
